Dr. Glenn Walter – Founder

Glenn Thomas Walter is a native of Youngstown, Ohio. His family later relocated to Compton, California. He has served as a consultant to a cross section of industries. Dr. Walter has trained thousands and raised more than four million dollars to fund leadership training projects throughout the United States. His professional business expertise spans more than 25 years in both private and public sectors.

A prominent national lecturer and leadership consultant, Dr. Walter currently serves as President/CEO of Leadership Training Consultants, Inc., located in Columbus, Ohio. The business specializes in providing leadership training to major corporations, small businesses, public government, private foundations and institutions of higher education.

Dr. Walter’s leadership training has been presented to numerous clienteles to include: U.S. Department of Labor, Youthbuild USA, The Ohio Department of Education, Columbus Public & Cleveland Unified City School Districts, The National Black MBA’s Association, The United Way of Central Ohio, University of Southern California, Central Texas University, University of Maryland, Capitol University, Cleveland State University, Central State University, The Ohio State University, University of Findlay, Sinclair Community College, Columbus State Community College, Wilberforce University, Antioch College, and numerous establishments throughout the United States.

The first African American to serve as President/CEO of Columbus Works, Inc. a renowned Central Ohio employment training conglomerate nationally recognized for its “Best Practices” in occupational skills development and training. Columbus Works, Inc. was the first business in Ohio to receive such distinction in its industry. Dr. Walter has been invited to Washington D.C. on numerous occasions to present his distinctive and extraordinary processes to the US Department of Labor’s Effective Practices Panel (PEPNet) of employment experts.

A recipient of the United States Congress National Leadership Award for “Excellent Practices in Business Management,” Dr. Walter was extended a personal invitation to have dinner with President George W. Bush at the White House. He is also the honored recipient of the prestigious Walter & Marian English Award presented by the United Way of Central Ohio for outstanding contributions in the field of social services. Dr. Walter was requested as keynote speaker for the City of Findlay & University of Findlay’s historic joint celebration to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy. Dr. Walter is listed in Who’s Who in Black Columbus (8th Edition).

In an effort to fulfill his fervency to teach leadership, Dr. Walter created the Leadership Training Institute of Columbus. This is a Non-Profit State of Ohio registered institution providing leadership training to faith-based entities and Community Development Corporations. Dr. Walter also established “The Servant Leader’s Summit,” an annual contemporary leadership conference for young burgeoning professionals aspiring to serve the global community as leaders. His innovation was instrumental in designing and implementing “The Servant’s Leadership Course,” for which he serves as lead instructor. The course is offered through Trinity Lutheran Seminary, which ranks among the oldest ecclesiastical institutions in the Midwestern United States, located in Bexley, Ohio.

Dr. Walter is the former CEO of Columbus Works, Inc. (CWI). CWI is a United Way of Central Ohio Employment Training Agency with eight employees. He served in this capacity for seven years. During his tenure at CWI, he trained over two thousand clients and raised five million dollars for employment training and development. His expertise was recognized by the United States Department of Labor’s Promising & Effective Practices Network – PEPNet for National Best Practices for educational and employment training. Dr. Walter has 30 years of experience in customizing business and educational training that provide solutions for professionals responsible for leading people, educating students, or managing resources. His areas of concentration are businesses, universities, and community development corporations. He manages the daily operations of the company.
